The House of the Woman of Cameroon, is possible thanks to the two Institutions Begoña Parish of Bilbao and Friends of Africa of Andalusia, who have given us some gifts and have already been destined to the House of the Woman of Zamay in Cameroon Africa.
Destination of the donations
- Construction of bathrooms and showers.
- Build a wall to separate the woman's house from the parish pasture and thus provide greater security and protect the girls from possible disturbances or dangers.
The protection wall has a cost of 3,260,967 FCFA, which is equivalent to
5.017 euros.
* With the help of the friends of the Parish of Begoña of 1,500 euros in the month of April 2023 the protection wall began to be built.
* In July 2023 we received a gift of 700 euros from 'Friends of Africa from
Andalusia' fruit of the work camp in Roquetas de Mar.
Missionaries of Christ Jesus in Cameroon
The Missionaries of Christ Jesus arrived in Cameroon in a town called Bogo, in 1995 responding to the call of the local Church of the Diocese of Maroua - Mokolo in the extreme north of the country.
From the beginning, one of the most important activities was the accompaniment, training and promotion of women, be they girls or adults.
In 2004, a new community was opened in Zamay, in the same Diocese. To respond to situations of injustice experienced by girls and women.
In 2006, 'La casa de la Mujer' was created, it must be taken into account that in situations of poverty or vulnerability, women are doubly poor, due to lack of instruction or schooling and for the simple fact of being women:
- If the family has the possibility of having a child study, this will preferably be a boy. Once married, girls become part of their husband's family.
- The girls have to deal with fetching water, firewood, cleaning the house... or simply taking care of their younger brothers.
- When a woman is a child, she depends on her father (normal and good) when she is young and marries, she depends on her husband; if she is a widow, her eldest son depends, or if she is still of childbearing age, she is given as a second or third wife to the her late husband's brother.
Our support for women's initiatives
For this and many other reasons, we have always wanted to support all initiatives and female activities.
The training center has:
- With a large training room.
- A library for children and adults.
- A space for cooking classes with a pantry.
- A wood oven and traditional kitchens.
In the Center they carry out courses in: cutting and sewing, embroidery and weaving, batik, bakery and pastry, food transformation: jams, preserves, fruit drying... as a way of helping the family economy and providing women with a living more dignified and thus help the precarious family economy. In addition to manual activities, literacy courses are given in local languages and French, introductory management and basic mathematics as a way of helping them better manage resources.

Current situation of young people
The girls come from the different mountains of the region. Some characteristics of these young people are:

The Center was opened as a boarding school to avoid the danger to the girls of coming and going to their towns every day, the girls slept as best they could in the sisters' house. In order to give them their space and autonomy, it is necessary to close the plot and with your help and that of other people, without a doubt, we will achieve it.
From the month of September the young women and girls will be in a boarding system during the months that the training lasts.
