The Missionaries of Christ Jesus are born with the firm purpose of contributing to the construction of the Kingdom of God, by participating in the missionary activity of the Church.
Always with Christ Jesus as the center of our lives, we want to be present there where the values of the Kingdom are unknown or crushed, opening, with our work, new paths to the Gospel and making our lives a sign of universal brotherhood.
Some of our history
On March 14, 1944, María Camino Sanz Orrio met in Javier, together with Concha Arraiza, Teresa Unzu and with the invaluable help of Monsignor Olaechea, to begin their new Life: The Institute of the Missionaries was born of Christ Jesus .
A few months later the fourth is added: Eugenia Nagore.
“It was God's thing. He wanted it”, would say years later, María Camino.
From the beginning, a new style of being a missionary was sought: more agile and effective. Those who gather around the initial idea know that they must be women of faith and prayer, anchored in what is essential: love for Jesus Christ and consecration to the Mission (for this reason, they add a fourth vow: “to march and serve the missions').
Everything else must be at the service of this ideal. And so, the structures, schedules and norms will be minimal, availability for service maximum, prompt response to the most urgent needs... Always motivated by the love of the Kingdom, moved by the Spirit of Jesus, hungry to serve the children and daughters of the common Father. On October 3, 1946, the first four took their first vows.
On November 10, 1948, the first expedition left for India: five sisters who would go to two mission posts: Kohima and Tura. At that time there were already 50 Missionaries.
In November 1951 two sisters began their mission in Japan.
In 1954, the first two Japanese missionaries of Christ Jesus began their training.
En 1955 inician la formación las Misioneras Indias.
En 1956 se emprenden las misiones del Congo y Venezuela.
En 1969 se empieza en Bolivia y poco después en Chile.
Years later he went to the Philippines, the Dominican Republic, Cameroon, Chad and China.
On June 6, 1991, Mª Camino Sanz Orrio died.
Nowadays
Currently there are 282 missionaries from Spain, Japan, India, Belgium, Slovenia, DR Congo, Bolivia, Chile, Venezuela, the Philippines, Vietnam, China and

«To provide a service to the missionary Church by being auxiliaries of the Church in the mission fields, always giving preference to the most difficult and needy missions. Like Christ, submissive to the will of the Father, showing universal love for all men, spreading good where it is most needed, without limitations of any kind in activities and doing it in a simple way through our service and our friendship. With an authentic family life, simple, joyful, with a wide range of schedules and plans, always accommodated to the needs of the mission... The example of Saint Francis Xavier and his entrepreneurial spirit fueled in us the desire to take the message of Christ to the most remote and needy peoples” (Constitutions of the Missionaries of Christ Jesus).
